Lavinia
Hayes (Leslie) |
Petite, dressed in up-scale department store clothes. A free spirit with striking eyes and a fairly youthful face except for deep expressive lines around her mouth. She never married; always traveling to indulge her love of painting landscapes. Some hang in several good galleries. When age caught up to her, she returned to Brindlewood Bay where she now paints portraits in Watercolor. She is active in various charities & clubs, which is how she met the other Maven's. She brings intelligence, composure, and an eye for detail to the Maven's activities. Cozy Items: binoculars, art kit, sketch pad, clay medium, clay sculpting knife. Maven Move: Scarecrow. |

Opal Shipton (Nathan) |
A bespectacled grandmother who wears flowery dresses and has an extensive collection of cookie jars. Many folks take Opal's kind demeanor (Columbo) as a signal of a waning mind, but she's still sharp as a tack. She has a deceased husband Gregory, as well as 4 grown children: Chip, Cookie, Ginger, and Otis. She has a pet turtle Audrey and enjoys her retirement from working at a small flower shop. Cozy Items: cookie jars, tin of cookies, large purse, bag of hard candy, apron with flowery print. Maven Move: Columbo |

With the help of relatives already living in the States, Diane opened up a restaurant in Flushing New York: Wok Before you Run. Her determination to create a successful life for her children helped her restaurant succeed. Her fondest memories include having her children work together there. Eventually, her children Jenny and Jason graduated college and started their own families and careers. After her husband passed away, she sold the restaurant and retired to Brindlewood Bay. She never stopped her love for cooking. Cozy Items: 40+yo seasoned wok, catering tray with sterno can, chop sticks, chef cleaver. Maven Move: Colt Seavers |

Doris Bunyard (Bill) |
Always dressed for work as a part-time librarian. Spends time scrapbooking all those pictures and postcards she and Ben collected during his military career. Left the south and its hurricanes, Washington and its Mount St Helen eruption, California’s quakes. Many times, during his deployment or remote assignments, everything in the house seemed to break. Thus, her ability to fix anything, considering Ben’s NCO pay didn’t allow for real repairs or replacement. Now in BB per bachelor son Robby’s request, “It’s nice and quiet up here. No natural disasters.” Guess 8ft winter snow drifts don’t count. I wonder when Robby will have kids I can add to the family book? Cozy Items: monkey wrench, mason jar of glitter, glue stick, bedazzled army helmet. Maven Move: MacGyver |
